Untame yourself to find peace

Exploring deeper wounds for lasting change

Therapy for those who have tried talk therapy but long for a deeper exploration because they struggle with recurring patterns that cause hopelessness. I offer a body-mind approach to healing so that you can make lasting change.

What is Body Psychotherapy?

Body Psychotherapy is a Body-mind approach to healing

The struggles people face as adults often stem from qualities that once served as protective mechanisms during childhood. By bringing the unconscious to light and through body interventions, you will be able to notice, prevent and eventually liberate yourself from patterns that are holding you back. Body Psychotherapy integrates mind, body and emotions in order to uncover, release and heal deep rooted wounds. This modality is a past and present focused intervention using expressive techniques to release trauma. It guides you toward a more authentic path, centered on your higher self, enabling you to shed defenses and discern your next steps.

What will sessions look like?

The first few sessions will seem like traditional talk therapy as I begin to understand what struggles you are experiencing, after this we will slowly dive into the deeper work. Through the utilization of grounding, movement, self-massage, expression, subtle energy work, vibration, releasing, and therapeutic touch, we can delve into a deeper understanding of the root causes behind the struggles. By using these interventions, you´ll get to a place where you can truly understand what is leading to your struggles and as a result regulate physiological, neurological and emotional functions of the body which leads to an expansion of consciousness & in turn decreases presenting symptoms. Allowing you to find a reduction in the presenting symptoms and make lasting change where you desire it most.

So why try body psychotherapy?

Most communication is non-verbal, many of our deeply-rooted wounds are pre-verbal, surpassing the power of words and where they can hide or alter the truth. Have you felt you´ve gained a certain level of insight in talk therapy but still unable to reverse or prevent the same pattern from happening again? Have you felt frustrated when you have been guided to change the way you think? To make lasting change we must understand where that thinking comes from and this is where the body has the answers. Have you found the coping strategies you have learned have only been a band aid or temporary solution to your problem? The body tells us the truth behind our suppressed feelings, body memories & negative beliefs. These unconscious influences, often operating beneath our awareness, have a significant impact on our behavior, leading to self-defeating patterns. The body also gives us answers to the questions we seek to understand. It is a journey exploring both past and present experiences, fostering integration and paving the way for the future you desire. It involves learning to embrace our untamed nature in a nurturing manner.

What does this modality work for? About you:

Body psychotherapy is a modality that effectively addresses a wide range of challenges faced by individuals. They can be given labels such as social anxiety, trauma, substance use disorder, depression, unexplained anger, sexual dysfunction, or chronic fatigue. Additionally, struggles can manifest in toxic relationships, a sense of lacking purpose, drive, or motivation or the way we form attachments and relate to others. It acknowledges the presence of more subtle signs, like people-pleasing, emotional shutdown, numbing, hypervigilance, or perfectionism, which may be praised by society but can negatively impact our well-being. By delving into the root cause of the issue you are facing you will be able to make progress in the area of your life that is causing you difficulties as opposed to treating ongoing symptoms. This involves uncovering and addressing emotions and misguided pursuits of pleasure, power, and love, ultimately leading to the cultivation of self-compassion, personal responsibility, and authentic expression of wholehearted pleasure.
